Yoga Thrive: Therapeutic Yoga for Cancer

IMG_17251.jpg

YogaTHRIVE (previously called Yoga for Cancer Survivors) is a program spearheaded by the Culos-Reed Health and Wellness Lab in the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary.  Headed by Dr. Nicole Culos-Reed, Associate Professor at the U of C, the program aims to help those living with all types of cancer feel better and improve their quality of life; there's even a kids program too!

Kim has been a Certified YogaTHRIVE Instructor (Level I) since January 2008.   As an instructor trained under Susi Hately-Aldous, Therapeutic Yoga Instructor and Owner of Functional Synergy, Kim has been fortunate enough to bring this unique yoga program to individuals coming back from or in the midst of cancer.  Past students have said the main benefit of the program has been the social network it has provided them as a way of breaking free of their feelings of isolation.
